Ideal End; Band Biography
Ideal End are:
Gavin O'Shea: Vocals.
Michael McGowan: Drums.
Scott James McGowan: Guitar.
When Ideal End formed in early 2005 it was the coming together of experienced and talented musicians who shared a similar musical vision and this, allied with their dedicated approach to song writing, has lead to a fine collection of original compositions.
Drawing on their wide range of musical influences Ideal End have become one of Corks liveliest and most entertaining acts. The combination of well crafted guitar riffs, powerful yet melodic vocals and a driving rhythm section has resulted in superbly written songs that are both immediately memorable and a testament to the bands musicianship.
This is highly evident on the bands latest EP “Par for the Process", released June 2007. Crowd favorite and second song on the EP “Bruised Elbows" has already received airplay on local radio stations and the EP has received very favorable reviews from the media.
The bands debut EP “Lay it Down" was released to much acclaim in September 2005 and also received airplay on both Red FM and 96 FM as well as earning glowing reviews from Hotpress and the local Media. The positive feedback culminated in the band being asked to share the stage with Kerbdog in December 2005 and Boss Volenti in April 2006.

Sometimes spotted in the background of gig photos, Myke is resident drummer with Ideal End. Myke enjoys an unhealthy obsession with off-beat snare hits and weird and wonderful grooves.

Scott is Ideal End's six string specialist. A firm believer in "The way of the riff" Scott provides the rhythmical hook and lead breaks in many of the bands songs. Has been accused of playing G, C and above all D.

Sings anything in the key of D. Although, unknown to the rest of the band, his shower-based singing is mainly in E, G, C and some other keys. His fantastic range is an invaluable asset to the bands sound. Somewhat of a computer wizz kid too.
