March '07 - Recording Finished! Good news on the recording front! We have finished recording the forthcoming EP, provisionally titled “Par For The Process". All told there will be 4 songs on the record and they are sounding damn good, even if we are a little biased!
The four songs are: 1) Par For the Process 2) The Gutter 3) Bruised Elbows 4) Who's To Blame
We are currently mixing and mastering the songs with Kieran Hurley of Cork's Campus Radio 97.4FM and Cyprus Avenue. If you're lucky we may even put one track up on the site as a preview of the EP.
We are currently booking gigs too so check back for updates in the gig section. We hope to have the “Par For The Process" launch date some time early May, details will be released as we have them.

January 2007: Up and Running. After a longer Christmas break than the politicians take The Ideal End machine is back up and running. It wasn't all mince pies and beer though... We have completed two songs for the forthcoming EP. "Who's To Blame?" and "The Dirge" (Working title) are now ready for mixing and mastering. 2 more tracks are almost there also. We plan on playing a few warm up gigs for the launch shortly so check back regularly for updates!

July 2006: Ideal End in Hotpress. Ideal End were featured in Hotpress twice this month receiving two fantastic reviews.
The band was featured as part of the recent Jack Daniels showcase in Cyprus Avenue. The bands sound and debut EP was reviewed as follows:
“Still-mourning Kerbdog fans would definitely find solace in Ideal End. Both acts share the heavy, dirty, chugging guitars that drew influence from the grunge era but Gavin's vocals have the melodic clarity normally associated with American college rock bands which makes for some interesting listening." HOTPRESS.
The gig itself also received a great review:
“Their sound is meaty and refined."
“… they deliver a slick set of hard rock numbers."
“Frontman Gavin O'Shea's emotive and powerful timbre reverberates around the room...note perfect Cornell"
Mark Keane, HOTPRESS.
High praise indeed!

Ideal End's debut EP available in Plug'd records. Ideal End's debut EP, Lay it Down, launched last september to widespread critical acclaim is now available in Plug'd records on Washington street. You can hear all the tracks in our music section but dont let that stop you picking up a copy! Here is just a taste of some of the feedback the EP has received:
This 4 piece have created a dense and melodic sounding record. The track "Whatever Gets You" is a magnificantly moody hard-riffing mutha with heavy drums that wouldn't sound too out of place on soundgarden's Badmotorfinger album".
Don O'Mahoney, The Evening Echo.
"O'Shea's voice soars to new heights": Drop-d E-zine on the title track "Lay it down"
"Beautiful guitar picking with a more soulful approach": Drop-d E-zine on "Left Behind"
